watched how i met your mother to close off the year. honestly as much as i like lily and marshall on retrospect it makes me mad that they get back together for season 2, it feels like marshall is way too sweet and forgiving for someone like lily. not that it's wrong how lily was feeling, but with a modern reading it feels sad that the conclusion she drew from pursuing her dreams is that she should pursue being a wife instead.... weird. there's also a lot of transphobic jokes in this show.
i also noticed a subtle diss at friends, in s2e7 (swarley) ted barney and marshall start the episode sitting in a coffee shop with a very similar layout as the coffee shop in friends, saying that "hanging out at a coffee place is way less fun than hanging out at a bar" i love when friends catches strays
