Yesterday I finished season 1 of How I met your Mother and started watching season 2. There's something about sitcoms from the 2000s that feels really corny, but it's part of what I like about them.
I like rewatching this show because it makes me notice all the little details that then get callbacks at the end of the show, for example, the motif for "la vie en rose" is the background music for the new year's scene when Robin kisses Ted and then walks away.
I loved Barney the first time I watched this show and I still love him now, I think he's a fun character to work with. The sweet moments with him are a bit corny but I like corny, it feels like a sitcom's best attempt at writing a three-dimensional character.
